Nicole Bangloy, MSW., RSW.

Nicole Bangloy is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW). Nicole completed her Master of Social Work in the Health and Mental Health specialization at the University of Toronto and her Bachelor of Social Work (with Distinction) at the University of Victoria. Nicole has over a decade of experience as a social worker and is passionate about supporting individuals as they cope with depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, education or career concerns, low self-esteem, stress management and a myriad of other challenges. Nicole also has extensive health care experience and has worked in both acute and community settings, such as in the Emergency Department, Outpatient Mental Health, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Oncology, Palliative Care, Sexual Health and in Clinical Supervision. This experience has allowed Nicole to provide specialized support to individuals that have experienced medical trauma, chronic pain, injury and chronic illness, in addition to health care workers. Nicole uses an array of therapeutic approaches to support individuals, which include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Cultural Humility, Grief and Loss, Strength and Resiliency and Anti-Oppressive approaches. As a Filipino-Canadian, Nicole is also dedicated to anti-racism in her practice. From a place of kindness and compassion, Nicole can help you learn new skills and techniques so you can go from surviving to thriving. Nicole will help you rebuild a life that gives you purpose and meaning again, and allow you to create a new normal, even if life doesn’t look like it used to.
