Dr. Kim S. Daniel, PhD - Ph.D. Associate

Kim S. Daniel, M.Ed., PhD., RP

Registered Psychotherapist – Senior | Virtual Only
I received my PhD from McGill University in an APA/CPA‑accredited Counselling Psychology program, where I developed strong skills in both research and clinical care. I completed my residency at Surrey Place, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I later completed a postdoctoral clinical fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children, working with children, adolescents, and families in Pediatric Psychology and Behavioural Medicine. Currently, I work part‑time (virtually) at CBT Associates, where I primarily provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to children, teens, adults, and families, while integrating other therapeutic approaches based on each client’s unique needs. I support clients facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, health‑related challenges, school and work performance issues, relationship difficulties, obsessive‑compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, bullying, and other mental health concerns. I also continue my work with Surrey Place as the Director of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility (EDIA), and Innovation, where I support staff and communities in leading with humility and implementing best practices. I am passionate about creating welcoming, supportive, and inclusive spaces for all individuals and communities. I value building warm, collaborative, and compassionate relationships with my clients. I am dedicated to helping people feel understood, supported, and empowered as they work toward their personal goals and well‑being. I continue to aspire to make meaningful contributions to the fields of counselling, psychology, education, and social justice. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and exploring different cuisines, fashion, and spending quality time with my loved ones. I am affiliated with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and the Canadian Psychological Association.
