Dr. Ya Xue, Ph.D. C. Psych

Dr. Ya Xue received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Western Ontario. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax and was subsequently employed at the IWK Health Centre for a number of years before her recent return to Ontario. Dr. Xue is currently a staff psychologist at Kinark Child and Family Services where she provides psychological assessment, intervention and consultation services. At CBT Associates, Dr. Xue provides individual treatment for children, adolescents and adults with anxiety disorders, depression, and adjustment and stress related difficulties. Dr. Xue also strongly believes in the importance of relationships across the lifespan. She has extensive training in attachment theory and attachment based interventions and she enjoys working with parents to foster the development of secure relationships with their children. Dr. Xue has a warm, empathetic and collaborative style. Her practice is guided by evidence based treatments. She draws primarily from cognitive behavioural, dialectical behavioural, and motivational enhancement models of therapy.
