Dr. Katy Kamkar received her PhD in clinical psychology from Concordia University and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and clinical/research postdoctoral fellowship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She has worked as a clinician and teacher in a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. One of her greatest interests is to provide education to the public on mental health and mental illness, including mental health in the workplace. She has written numerous articles for various comprehensive public resources. She also provides education to the public through extensive public relations/media work in relation to mental health/mental illness related topics as well as workplace mental health and stress.
Dr. Kamkar has experience treating depression, anxiety, trichotillomania, dysthymia, habit disorders, panic, PTSD, phobias, hypochondriasis, work-life balance, stress management, and perfectionism. She is also a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario and the Canadian Psychological Association.
