Dr. Juliana Tobon received her PhD from the University of Western Ontario and completed her predoctoral training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in the Child, Youth, and Family Program, working with children with mood, anxiety and behavioural difficulties, and with young adults with addiction and concurrent disorders. She has worked in schools, hospitals, day treatment and residential programs, and community children’s mental health centres.
Dr. Tobon’s research has examined how parents experience care in Ontario’s mental health system, and she has received funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Her recent research has examined the effects of Dialectical Behaviour Skills training for young adults in a community and university setting.
Dr. Tobon is a Psychologist at St. Michael’s Hospital’s Academic Family Health Team, where she serves children, adolescents and adults in a primary care setting. Dr. Tobon is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. At CBT Associates, Dr. Tobon provides assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with mood and anxiety disorders. She also provides cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for individuals with self-esteem and relationship issues, addictions and concurrent disorders, as well as other interpersonal and stress-related difficulties. She takes an empathic and client-centred approach to her practice and will ensure that each client is connected with the most appropriate, accessible, and evidence-based treatment.
Dr Tobon is also registered to provide services for residents of Nunavut.
