    Carly Skidmore, RP

    Registered Psychotherapist
Carly is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and has over 7 years of experience practicing in the mental health field. Carly graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree and a minor in Psychology. Carly also holds a Master of Science from the University of Waterloo specializing in health behaviour change, health psychology, motivational interviewing, exercise prescription and fall/fracture prevention. Carly believes that it is possible for anyone to notice feeling stuck because of difficult situational factors, a significant loss, or difficult thoughts and feelings getting in the way of what matters most to us. However, Carly also believes that it is possible to take meaningful action in the presence of difficulty, and considers it to be an incredible privilege to walk alongside individuals on their journey. Her passion is helping to identify and implement action-oriented strategies to assist one in pivoting towards their valued direction. Carly practices primarily with an integration of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Behavioural Activation (BA), Motivational Interviewing (MI), exposure work, and mindfulness-based strategies. At CBT Associates, Carly assists individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment disorder, grief, stress, relationship and interpersonal issues, workplace difficulties, career change considerations, and chronic pain. Please note that our associates work with many presenting issues, some of which are not listed in this biography. Please speak with our intake team at 416-363-4228 for more information.
