Andrea Fairweather, MSW, RSW

My name is Andrea Fairweather. I am a Registered Social Worker who specializes in Mental Health and substance use issues with youth and adults, I have a Bachelor of Social Work degree from The University of Victoria, and a Master’s of Social Work degree from Dalhousie University. I hold a Level 1 Cognitive Behavioral Certificate from Sick Kids Centre for Community Mental Health, and a Level 2 Cognitive Behavioral Certificate from Wilfred Laurier University. I am currently completing a Trauma Certificate at Wilfred Laurier University. I completed my Bachelor’s placement in the Addictions Outpatient program at Toronto Western Hospital and my Master’s placement at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH) in the Forensic Dual Diagnosis Specialty Service. My clinical experience includes working with individuals experiencing depression and anxiety, and with those dealing with substance use issues. I have experience working with survivors of domestic violence. I also have 20 years of experience working with individuals in career transition, including newcomers to Canada. A member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW), I work primarily from a strengths-based perspective, utilizing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and solutions-focused Narrative Therapy. I aim to create a warm, empathetic, and safe space to help clients explore their goals and challenges, and to support them in finding solutions.
