Jennifer Scammell is a psychology resident at CBT Associates. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor. Her dissertation research focuses on emotion socialization—how parents teach and help their children navigate the world of emotions. Jennifer is exploring how parents’ own emotional competence skills impact emotion socialization and children’s emotion regulation and social skills. Throughout her clinical training, Jennifer has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings, including early childhood intervention services, Psychological Services and Research Centre at the University of Windsor, adolescent inpatient mental health, outpatient mental health, and community mental health.
Jennifer is trained to deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention to children, adolescents, and adults, in addition to psychoeducational assessments to children and adolescents. Her training has focused primarily on cognitive-behavioural interventions and she has also received training in solution-focused and behavioural approaches.
