Dr. Yana Korotkevich received her PhD from Concordia University and is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Korotkevich has worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings with adults providing both therapy and assessment. She has worked at the Waterloo Region Psychology Consortium, the University Health Network, Toronto Western Hospital, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in addition to a variety of other settings.
Dr. Korotkevich is particularly interested in providing treatment for individuals dealing with low mood, depression, worry, anxiety, and fear. She views therapy as a means of helping clients build on their existing strengths and discover new ways that improve coping, enhance quality of life, and help them achieve their personal goals. She works primarily from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework in addition to applying elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT).
