Dr. Deanne Simms is a clinical health psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults and couples. Originally from Toronto, Dr. Simms completed her doctoral training at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton with a specialization in working with couples in the areas of sexual health and well-being. Dr. Simms completed her pre-doctoral internship in London, Ontario in the areas of Health and Rehabilitation and subsequently worked in Primary Care settings treating patients across the lifespan (i.e., children to the elderly) with both mental and physical health challenges. Most recently, Dr. Simms was working at the IWK Health Centre with children, adolescents and families in both inpatient and outpatient mental health services.
At CBT Associates Dr. Simms provides treatment for children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety disorders, depression, and difficulties of adjustment, as well as couples struggling with relationship and sexual communication and satisfaction. Dr. Simms utilizes evidence-based, cognitive behavioral interventions while working collaboratively with the individuals, couples and families she treats.
