Dr. Christina Iorio received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Lakehead University. She completed her predoctoral internship at William Osler Health System in the Adult Day Treatment Program, where she specialized in assessing and treating adults with mood and anxiety disorders. Some other professional experiences include positions at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, St. Joseph’s Care Group, and the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
At CBT Associates, Dr. Iorio provides assessment and treatment services for adults and couples. She is particularly interested in providing treatment for individuals dealing with: depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma, and relationship/marital issues. Dr. Iorio’s approach to therapy is focused on providing a supportive, collaborative, and empowering environment for clients, allowing them to build upon their strengths and move towards achieving their personal goals. In addition to working from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework, she applies elements of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when appropriate. She believes in utilizing evidence-based approaches which are tailored to each individual’s needs.
Dr. Iorio is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, and is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association and Canadian Psychological Association.
