Christine has over ten years experience as a generalist practitioner and specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, grief, stress, occupational/operational stress injuries and various forms of abuse. Christine has a Master of Social Worker and completed her education at King’s College with the University of Western Ontario. Christine also has combined degrees specializing in Child and Family Relations and Psychology. Christine is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
Christine completed her internship with the Occupational and Operational Stress Injury Clinic with St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, Ontario. Christine was employed with Borden Family Resources Centre serving the families of the ill, injured and fallen. Christine has also assisted in the development of excellence in program development and delivery for counselling to the families of the ill, injured and fallen. Christine has also been employed in addiction and mental health centres.
Christine provided presentations related to Operational/Occupational Stress Injuries, depression and trauma during the completion of her Master of Social Work degree as well as throughout her career. Christine also has extensive experience in providing Employee Assistance Counselling through various organizations. Christine was also deployed to provide trauma care for the survivors of the Fort McMurry fire.
Christine has been in private practice since 2014 providing support to individuals with various forms of trauma, work related challenges, various forms of abuse, relationship issues, anxiety (social/performance/health/agoraphobia/generalized), depression, adjustment challenges, obsessive compulsive disorder, self-esteem, and grief. Christine predominantly works with adults and adolescents. Christine provides an eclectic approach to counselling using Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Anti-oppressive practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, family systems, structural social work, and feministic principles. Christine has worked with diverse populations from many cultural/religious groups. Christine uses a holistic, intuitive and compassionate approach and tailors the eclectic interventions to each individual for client centered and evidenced informed therapy.
