Dr. Amy Shannon received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from York University. She completed her residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. She has also completed training at the University Health Network. In addition to her work at CBT Associates, Dr. Shannon also holds a position at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in the Psychological Trauma Program.
Dr. Shannon provides assessment and treatment for adults and couples with a range of challenges including: depression, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, and stress. She also has a special interest in assisting clients with concerns related to trauma, eating, and body image. She has received training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Gottman Couples Therapy, and has completed additional training in the field of health psychology. She strives to use her training in evidence-based approaches to therapy to collaboratively work with clients to meet their goals and create lasting change in their lives.
